Hi Family,
A huge winter storm hit Toronto and upstate New York on Saturday and Sunday. Church was canceled on Sunday and I had a wonderful day with my girlfriends. I made it home really late, very few streetcars were operating and it was snowy and cold. I packed and cleaned until 3am Sunday evening, then slept for 2 hours before heading out at 5am. I walked a few blocks to the subway with my big red Coleman pack on my back, then took a bus to Buffalo, NY, then a plane to New York City, and then another plane to West Palm Beach. It was quite the trip. Luckily the weather didn't prevent me from making it safe and sound. Michelle and Paul picked me up around 8pm.
It is so nice to be out of the big cold city. Toronto is great, but I think I needed the change of pace. I'm soaking up the warm weather. Michelle has to work, but Paul and I hit the beach today. We visited a sea turtle hospital and saw a turtle named Noel released back into the wild sans left-flipper. If Michelle will let me I may go on a 3 day trip with Paul and friends to hike in the everglades. The alligators are somewhat docile this time of year. We have a few other things in mind as well.
Next semester I'll be working at an agency in Toronto 3 days a week as a part of my program. I'm still sorting through the possibilities and I'll need to interview when I get back. I'm working on accumulating a professional wardrobe. I got my Christmas presents from Cam and Peg, and it will be put to good use.
Merry Christmas to all!
